Mike Mellross is a Project Manager in the Energy Transition Unit of the City of Edmonton which has been tasked with stewarding and implementing Edmonton’s Community Energy Transition Strategy. Previously to re-joining the City of Edmonton in 2016, Mike was the Manager of the Environment Branch of the City of St. Albert. Mike is a registered Professional Agrologist with over twenty years of experience in the field of environmental management and sustainability. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta and two technical diplomas in Natural Sciences and Water Pollution Studies from Mount Royal University Past projects have included the development of Edmonton’s Green Building Strategy, the drafting of Edmonton’s original Green Home Guide, and developing and implementing programs outlined in St. Albert’s Local Action Plan for Energy Conservation and Greenhouse Gas Reductions including comprehensive facility auditing, implementation of energy conservation measures and feasibility studies for solar photovoltaics and combined heat and power. Mr. Mellross has been a Director of the Alberta Chapter Leadership Board of the Canada Green Building Council since 2011.
